VACCINATIONS

It is PAWS policy to only provide vaccinations to adult dogs & cats that are spayed & neutered.

DOG VACCINATIONS

  • DHPP $15--DHPP is a combination vaccine that prevents Distemper, Hepatitis, Parvovirus & Parainfluenza, which dogs can pick up from any contaminated surface. This vaccine needs to be administered every 3-4 weeks beginning at around 6-8 weeks of age and ending at around 16 weeks of age. DHPP should be re-administered at 1 year and every 3 years thereafter.

  • Leptospirosis $15--Lepto vaccine prevents leptospirosis which dogs can pick up from drinking contaminated, stagnant water. Lepto must be administered annually.

  • RABIES $15--This vaccine prevents the rabies virus which dogs can pick up from the saliva of an infected animal. This vaccination is REQUIRED by law and must be administered by a licensed veterinarian. California requires the first shot be administered at 12-16 weeks and is good for 1 year. All subsequent rabies shots are good for 3 years.

  • BORDATELLA $15--This vaccine helps protect dogs from a very infectious bacteria that cause severe respiratory infections.

  • Canine Flu Bivalent $30-- This is a two in one protection against canine influenza. Initial Injection must be administered two to four weeks later and annually thereafter

CAT VACCINATIONS

  • FVRCP $15--This vaccine prevents Feline Viral Rhinotracheitis which is the cause for upper respiratory disease in all cats.

  • LEUKEMIA/FeLV $15--This vaccine prevents a cancerous disease caused by FeLV. Cats can easily pick up this virus from the saliva or urine of an infected cat.

  • RABIES $15--This vaccine prevents the rabies virus which cats can pick up from the saliva of an infected animal. This vaccination is STRONGLY encouraged and must be administered by a licensed veterinarian.
